Helle - Bleja Knife
Helle Bleja Knife
Named after the mountain that looks down over the Helle factory and its fjord, the Bleja is a folding knife built to perform like a fixed blade in the field.
At 85mm, the triple laminated stainless steel blade is meaningfully longer than most folders, and the slight drop point profile combined with a hand sharpened Scandinavian grind gives it the kind of slicing edge that handles camp food prep, cordage, and trail tasks with equal competence. The back lock mechanism runs with a bit of extra tension, which adds a reassuring solidity when the blade is open and working hard. Fully visible stainless steel liners run the length of the handle, reinforcing the overall construction and making this about as close to a fixed blade experience as a folding knife gets.
The curly birch scales are handcrafted and fixed to the frame with three screws and a pipe rivet at the back end, the latter doubling as a lanyard attachment point. The handle is slim and narrow in profile, easy to pocket or stow in a PFD, while the small finger guard at the base gives you a reliable reference point during more demanding cuts. A genuine leather sheath is included, which is a thoughtful addition for a folder of this size and capability.
