The foundation of the Proteus is Gaia PVC-free foam, precisely cut and sculpted into body-mapped floating panels that wrap around the torso rather than sitting flat against it. Each panel is slit to allow the foam to flex and adapt as you move, which makes a noticeable difference over a long day of paddling compared to a stiffer, conventional PFD. The 100D stretch polyester outer envelope moves with the foam rather than against it, keeping everything feeling soft and unrestrictive from the first stroke to the last.

The high-back design with quick-drying spacer mesh on the lower back is a practical choice for recreational kayakers, accommodating the tall seat backs found in most sit-inside recreational boats without pushing you forward or creating pressure points. Four pockets, including two zippered and two fleece-lined handwarmer pockets, give you plenty of organisation for a day on the water. Currently available in XL/XXL only.
