Helle Alden Knife

Named after a historic island landmark that has guided fishermen and ocean travellers home for thousands of years, the Alden is a mid-size fixed blade that carries that same sense of reliable orientation in the field.

Designed by Gunnar Lothe and built around Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, the Alden is a capable all-round outdoor knife with particular relevance for anyone spending time near salt water. 12C27 is a well regarded steel choice for coastal and marine environments, offering a strong balance of edge retention and corrosion resistance that holds up through the kind of wet, demanding conditions Canadian paddlers and coastal campers regularly encounter. The 105mm blade has a slight drop point and a classic Scandi grind, a combination that handles everything from food prep to camp tasks to detail carving with straightforward, dependable performance.

The curly birch handle is polished to a satin finish and shaped for medium to large hands, with a distinct finger guard and stainless steel bolster where the handle meets the blade. That bolster adds a bit of weight forward and gives the knife a balanced, planted feel in hand. The overall profile is classic Scandinavian, unfussy and functional, with enough refinement to make it a knife you'll reach for daily rather than save for special occasions. Comes with a genuine leather sheath and belt loop for secure carry on the trail or water.
