A flatwater tripping canoe rooted in genuine Canadian heritage, the H2O Canadian 16'6" Pro-Lite draws its lines from early settler and First Nations canoe traditions and delivers them in some of the lightest, toughest composite construction available today.
The symmetrical hull and re-curved ends aren't just aesthetic choices. They reflect a design language refined over generations of paddling Canadian waterways. H2O pairs that traditional form with a shallow arch hull and shoe keel, a combination that's genuinely difficult to get right. The shoe keel aids tracking and offers real protection against grounding on rocky lake bottoms, while giving up very little in terms of maneuverability. Add in the sharp entry and exit lines and lower sheer profile, and you have a canoe that cuts through headwinds and covers open water efficiently without asking for a lot of effort from the paddler.
Compared to H2O's shorter Canadian models, the 16'6" steps up noticeably in speed and straight-line efficiency, making it well suited to multi-day tripping and extended flatwater touring. Pro-Lite epoxy layup options range from Innegra/Basalt through to full Carbon, bringing the hull in between 38 and 41 lbs depending on your build choice. The standard Integral Composite Gunwale (ICG) integrates a Carbon/Kevlar inner gunwale directly into the mould, producing a gunwale system that outperforms traditional aluminum in strength, rigidity, and weight.
