It bonds permanently to composite, thermoformed, Royalex, and TFormex hulls using Vinyl-Tec Adhesive, so there's no drilling into your hull and no hardware to work loose over time. The nickel plated steel D-ring is honest kit. It may develop some tarnish with regular exposure to water and the elements, but the strength stays consistent for years of hard use.
