Sometimes the most important things on a portage are the ones you need to grab without stopping to dig through your main pack.
The RBW External Barrel Pouch clips directly onto your barrel harness with quick-release buckles, keeping snacks, a rain jacket, a headlamp, or any other frequently accessed gear within easy reach on the trail. The side zipper runs the full length of the tubular compartment for straightforward access, and the whole pouch detaches and reattaches in seconds. It fits 60L and 30L barrel harnesses, and the daisy chain webbing on the opposite side lets it mount to any pack with side compression straps as well.
At just over 6 litres it's sized right for the items you want on the outside of your kit rather than buried inside it, and it keeps your main barrel or pack organised by handling the overflow that would otherwise end up loose in the canoe.
