The closed-cell foam construction remains virtually indestructible with nothing to puncture, leak, or malfunction in the field. The proprietary crosslinked polyethylene foam is moulded into heat-trapping dimples, softer on the top surface for comfort and denser on the bottom for durability against rough ground. Use the reflective silver side up to get the full benefit of the ThermaCapture coating. As a standalone pad it handles warmer three-season conditions comfortably, and layered under an air pad it adds 2.0 R-value plus puncture protection for shoulder-season and winter use across Canada. The accordion fold sets up and packs down instantly with no inflation required, and the folded pad pulls double duty as a seat on cold ground or wet surfaces.
