This is the Wilderness Systems Orbix round hatch and rim for 2015 and later models, but its versatility goes beyond straight replacement. With a clearly defined deck cut-out dimension and eight-screw mounting pattern, it can also be used for new custom hatch installations on any kayak with sufficient flat deck space, making it a popular choice for DIY rigging projects and hull upgrades. The improved rubber gaskets on both the deck rim and lid create a watertight seal, and the lockable latch keeps the cover firmly closed in rough water or during transport. A bucket option is also available separately for below-deck dry storage.
