Zegul - Arrow Empower HV A Core
Zegul Empower 18'3"
The same capable expedition hull as the Empower HV Rock Solid, now in Zegul's A-Core fibreglass lay-up for paddlers who prioritise durability and long-term value in a high-performance sea kayak touring package.
A-Core construction uses sandwich reinforcement throughout the deck and a heavily reinforced keel area to resist the impact and abrasion that come with regular use on rocky Canadian coastlines. The hull and deck are joined with both internal fibreglass and aramid taping, plus a robust external aramid seam, making this a genuinely tough build that won't need to be babied on gravel beaches or rocky launches. At 18'3" with sharp entry points and a long waterline, the Empower A-Core still delivers the same impressive glide, quick acceleration, and edging responsiveness as its lighter siblings. The moderately rockered bow handles big water confidently, and the soft-defined mid-ship chines keep transitions smooth when the boat goes on edge.
Outfitting is identical across the Empower range: contour backband with nut-and-bolt adjustability, multi-adjustable thigh braces, slidelock footpegs, and a flat rear deck that works well for self-rescues and layback rolls. Four Kayak Sport VCP-style hatches plus a centre day pod give you the storage capacity for extended trips, and a recessed bow compass mount keeps navigation tidy on longer crossings.
